Planning a wedding amidst setbacks | Reena + James' Garden Reception + Catholic Ceremony

I can’t even begin to list all of the setbacks that Reena + James endured during the planning of their wedding. Let me tell you: it was hard, they got through it and they had one of the best weddings I’ve had the pleasure of planning and executing!

First off, their first trip to town, to look at venues, was 3 days after the tornado. They saw 3 venues, chose 1, and after they were back home in California, found out that venue was no longer available. They had to choose another venue, sight unseen. Then, 4 months later, found out that venue would no be reopening. We subsequently had to re-design this entire wedding.

CJ’s Off the Square doesn’t typically allow outside planners but they made an exception when, in August of 2020, we approached them with the idea of hosting Reena + James’ reception in 2 months. Sydney was wonderful to work with and the entire experience was flawless.

Since travel wasn’t easy or safe, we planned and designed the entire wedding virtually! Right down to choosing the napkin color via FaceTime. I was so happy and totally blown away with this pale blue- gray, navy and gold design for Reena + James. The gold rim plates and glassware from Southern Event Rentals was exactly what this garden party needed to suit Reena’s style and vision for this event.
