Vendor Spotlight - CJ's Off the Square
Good morning everyone! Today we are honored to feature CJ's Off the Square as our vendor spotlight! CJ Dickson is not only the owner of CJ's Off the Square, but is also a NWPG member! Here's what CJ had to say about her beautiful venue in downtown Franklin, TN: Tell us about your venue:
CJ’s Off the Square is a historic home and outdoor wedding venue specializing in garden weddings and receptions. We can comfortably accommodate up to 135 guests.
What makes your venue different from other venues?
The setting at CJ’s Off the Square is truly one of a kind. Our clients like the venue because it is intimate and romantic. We are located in a historic district with a charming Main Street, full of cute shops and restaurants as well as charming historic homes. We offer the charm of a historic setting with the beauty of the outdoors with our garden pavilion.
We also offer a full range of design options which allows every bride to really customize her look. Our staff can help with as much or as little as each bride may need to make her day perfect. We also welcome planners to bring their ideas and vision to create a one of a kind look for their clients.
What is the history of your venue?
CJ’s Off the Square opened in 2005. The house itself was build in 1910 and I purchased it in 2004 with the intention of turning it into an event space. I fell in love with the house and grounds to moment I saw it and have loved being a caretaker of this property which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
What are some of your wedding and reception options?
We offer both morning and afternoon/evening wedding packages. All of our wedding packages include exclusive use of the property, complimentary valet parking, and all tables, linens and chairs for both the ceremony and reception. We have different packages based on different levels of services and style. Our Morning Light package starts at $4995. The Classic Package, which is what most planners use for their brides, starts at $9995. Our most popular all inclusive package which includes in-house planning services starts at $14,995.
Does your venue require use of preferred vendors, or are brides free to bring in their own?
CJ’s Off the Square requires that you use our house catering service however brides are welcome to bring their own wedding cake, flowers or entertainment provided the vendors are licensed and insured.
In your opinion which event ( or type of event) has most creatively taken advantage of your venue, and what made that event a success?
Some of the most creative and unique events we have done have been weddings. Here are three of my favorite – where the clients really trusted us with their vision and we were able to completely transform the space. Food is also a big part of any event and our chef creative completely unique menus for these events which were a huge hit with both the couples and their guests.
