Vendor Spotlight: Dickey's Barbecue Pit

Here in the South we love our barbecue and Nashville is no exception. Many couples take their love of barbecue and carry it in to their wedding festivities. Barbecue engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions, etc.... can be a ton of fun and are always a crowd pleaser. Last year we had the delicious opportunity to have Dickey's Barbecue Pit cater one of our meetings. The barbecue and sides were soooo yummy (we especially love their jalapeno beans) and would make the perfect meal for any event. Oh and definitely go see them at their restaurant in Brentwood...they have free ice cream every day! We also had the pleasure of meeting Dickey's owner, John Clark and his lovely daughter. We got to ask them a few  questions about Dickey's and here's what they had to say:

How did you get into catering?

Dickey's Barbecue Pit owners, John and Susie Clark, were looking for a way to get to Nashville to be closer to their daughter and also realize a dream of being their own boss. Dickey's was a perfect fit! Catering is a huge part of the business and they are excited to be a new, high quality, affordable option for Nashville brides!

What are some different options for catering that you offer brides?

We offer a delivery buffet where we come and get everything set up to self serve. We also offer a full service buffet where we can have staff on site to cut meat fresh from the block and serve, as well as clean up after guests.

What are some new things you are working on for 2015?

We are working on more options for passed appetizers.

What are you seeing that is popular in catering in 2015?

We are finding that people are really looking for high quality at a great price. And with the continued trend of the outdoor or semi-outdoor "rustic" themes, we fit in perfectly.

Tell me why brides should choose Dickey's Barbecue Pit for the catering needs?

Brides should choose Dickey's Barbecue Pit if they are looking for great tasting food that pleases the masses that won't break the bank. At about $10-$13 per plate, this is a great option for the laid back, country feel so many brides are seeking.
